As per Law, who is the eligible for filler in Pakistan under Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), however, a lot of education is required to spread awareness on their duty to pay taxes when they earn more than a threshold. For example, if you’re making more than Rs. 6-Lacs you’re eligible for becoming a tax filer in Pakistan.

In simple words, in the light of Pakistan’s Tax Law, all individuals having an annual income of PKR 600,000 or above are supposed to file their tax returns on an annual basis. National Tax Number, which is more commonly known as NTN, is a special number allotted by the government of Pakistan to every taxpayer.

What is the Minimum Income to File Taxes in Pakistan

As per Lawkidunya and according to rules issued by the Government of Republic of Pakistan has finalized tax slabs for salaried individuals for the fiscal year 2022-23 and has set a minimum income tax rate of 2.5% for those earning up to Rs. 100,000 per month and a maximum of 35% for individuals earning a monthly salary over Rs. 1 million.

How Much Salary is Tax Free in Pakistan

As per Law, in Republic of Pakistan a person earning Rs. 600,000 on annual basis as salary income is not required to pay tax. It means annual salary income up to Rs. 600,000 is exempt from tax. The First Schedule of Income Tax Ordinance, 2001 the tax rates for salary income has been defined for tax year 2022.
