Suits For Immoveable Property Situate Within Jurisidiction of Different Courts

As per Lawkidunya and section 17 of CPC, where a suit is to obtain relief respecting, or compensation for wrong to, immovable property situate with in the jurisdiction of different Courts, the suit may be instituted in any Court within the local limits of whose jurisdiction any portion of the property is situate : Provided that, in respect of the value of the subject matter of the suit, the entire claim is cognizable by such Court.

Where a Suit Can Be Filed About a Property as Per Law

Under section 16 of CPC a suit for declaration relating to the rights and interest in an immovable property is instituted in a Court within local limits of which the property is situated.

What is Punjab Immovable Property Act

The Punjab Partition of Immovable Property Act, 2012 has repealed the Partition Act of 1893. This Act may be cited as the Punjab Partition of Immovable Property Act, 2012 and is enacted to amend and reform the law relating to expeditious partition of immovable property and to provide for ancillary matters.
