Organ Transplantation Law in Pakistan

No human organ or tissue shall be removed from the body of a living person except for the purposes of section 3 and no transplantation team of a recognized medical institution or hospital shall undertake the removal or transplantation of any human organ or tissue from a living donor unless they have explained. Organ transplant law does not allow exchange of money between the donor and the recipient. According to the Act, the unrelated donor has to file an affidavit in the court of a magistrate stating that the organ is being donated out of affection.

The Transplantation of Human Organs & Tissues Act (THOTA), 1994 provides for regulation of removal, storage and transplantation of human organs & tissues for therapeutic purposes and for prevention of commercial dealings in human organs & tissues.
